Organize a Medical, Dental or Visual Mission!

Our first medical mission consisted of 18 that came at the request of the Vice President of Ecuador after El Nino had ravaged the country.  1,700 were seen in 4 days in impoverished communities.

Medical missions sponsored by FYTA annually continued through 2013 when the FYTA determined that Buen Samaritano Clinic responsibilities demanded more time.  Thus, medical missions are encouraged and arranged with FYTA for the impoverished areas that have the same needs as Floron.

The second ‘mini mission’ was two college students that spent a summer helping to begin building the clinic.

Bring a team to teach CPR!

Nurses and doctors came to teach CPR, burn treatments and treating infant diarrhea to local El Floron health workers.

Help in Buen Samaritano Clinic!

After many trips to Ecuador, Amy, who is fluent in Spanish, donated one year to work in the Buen Samaritano Clinic.

Organize a “Women’s Mission” for a Bible Study incorporated with sewing, crafts, cooking or even teaching English!

Sue and Alta came from the USA to the clinic and showed a group of El Floron ladies how to use a pattern. This included fabric for ladies to choose from.

Have a skill in the medical, dental or mechanical field…Share it!

Dr. Randi McVay brought her skills as an OB/GYN physician and trained Buen Samaritano Clinic Director Venegas to begin a PAP/breast exam clinic for women.

Help with various construction and repairs around the clinic are always needed!

Volunteer building teams have come for various building projects in construction, electrical and general repairs.  And, due to the humidity, painters are always needed.

Carol, a Denver Hygienist, volunteered her time to hold a gratis teeth cleaning while electrician husband Jeff worked on electrical repairs at the clinic!

If you aren’t a hygienist or electrician, tooth brushes and toothpastes are a much needed donation.

Plan an English class for adults or children!

Children and adults are very eager to learn English. No need to be a professional teacher.

Hold a children’s camp…soccer, baseball or arts & crafts!

Abby McVay brought all of the supplies for a Vacation Bible School and the equipment for sports.

Come and help boost water bottling sales that support the Clinic!

Casten Wilks working in the water production plant.

Donate time to clean…El Floron is the dustiest place in the world!

Volunteer Shelley came as a part of a medical mission team but was more than willing to clean our storage unit which is constantly dusty-which is true of all of El Floron.

Help support a family to improve their living conditions!

This family came on several missions and decided to help the clinic’s day guard build a new home.

Sponsor a student at the local university!

Attending the university is impossible for El Floron youth. Both Fabrico, clinic custodian, and Delores, office manager, were able to attend and graduate from a university thanks to the benevolence of team members who have come to know them over the years. Both are grateful for the support which would otherwise be impossible.
