November 2018: Our Thanksgiving Wish

November 1, 2018

Dear Family and Friends,

Rejoice with us!  Richard’s right shoulder complete replacement went well, and we thank you for your prayers and thoughts.  On Monday he begins physical therapy, which should keep him quite busy for more than a few months. . .and me with the ‘taxi service’. . .

As some of you know Pastor Manuel Meza, our day guard for the clinic, had his second heart attack.  Please continue to keep this dear man in your prayers. . . I will give you an update as soon as I can. . . at this point no inquiries have been forthcoming.  I delayed this update in hopes of hearing but have not.

Some of you have asked about our upcoming fundraisers and I will list dates and times below.  All are in churches who are supportive of missions.  Thus, it goes without saying, “Buy once, give twice.”

315 Lake Avenue; CO Springs 80906

Saturday & Sunday, November 10 & 11, 9 – 5 & 9 – 4 respectively

Evergreen Lutheran Church, 5980 Hwy 73

                                              Evergreen

Tuesday, November 13, 4 – 7:30, Bear Valley Church

                                              10001 W. Jewel; Lakewood 80232

Thursday, Friday & Saturday, November 29, 30 & December 1

                                               1- 10p, 10 – 10p & 10 – 5pm

                                               Deer Creek Community Church

                                               8131 Pierce Street; Littleton 80128

In the last update I failed to mention Diana Flores, who also has been able to attend college due to a very kind/generous American couple who donated funds for a computer, back pack, nursing uniforms, etc. Diana was able to gain admission to the government university which is very difficult since it is free. Diana and her family attend the church on the compound and she also teaches Sunday School in Floron 8 which is severely impoverished.

Our Thanksgiving wish is that each of you may know and experience the peace that is found in Christ Jesus and surpasses all understanding. . . as we have observed this is not a peace that the world can give.

Dios los bendiga,

Elizabeth and Richard
