¡Buenas días from Ecuador!
(And from Englewood. . . Richard made a brief trip home.)
How life can take many unexpected twists and turns that keeps us on our knees and looking to Our Father . . . And just where we should be! Dra. Silvia thanks you for your prayers during her thyroid surgery a little over a week ago. She did ask I come to visit the day after which did surprise me. . . She looked very good for just having major surgery the previous day. . .and I commented how thankful I was that it was over. With difficulty she slightly shook her head, “No.” She whispered that she would know in three weeks if more surgery is necessary. . . The look in her eyes broke my heart.
However, I have decided not to project what that could mean, and she asks you to continue to pray that no more surgery is necessary. . . Richard and I did visit her at home before he left; her two daughters are doing a great job administering a long list of meds that are due almost every waking hour.
In our seniors’ program we will be celebrating Hermano Ramone’s 97th birthday!! So sorry I can’t include a picture since that is NOT my expertise, but Richard will next update. Ramone said he and his wife had 9 children and he labored as a weed cutter. . . but I need some clarification on that.
We are really excited to have a medical mission team coming September 29th. . . They came 4 years ago (from Missouri) and Dr. Alan Allmon is making a second return trip. . . plus Dra. Giselle Baeza (OB/Gyn) and her husband, Pastor Efrain Baeza from Mexico, RN Tammy Walker who will teach CPR classes, LPN Terri Howard (also on the last team!), Kim Wallace to help with Spanish, Dr. Allmon’s ‘right hand lady’ – Mrs. Linda Allmon and can’t forget the team leader and Executive Director, Cara Harrington whom we sincerely thank for organizing and bringing a second team down.
So, here are the Fall Fundraisers, dates and locations…If you missed the one at our home or church would love to see you at one of these!
